Ever since 1919, the FLV has represented the interests of the Valais milk producers who are organised in a cooperative. In its capacity as a genuine umbrella organisation, it now has about 1,000 members. The main thrusts of its activities consist of the protection, marketing and promotion of its members' products.

In an economic environment characterised by constant change, the FLV's mission is to act on behalf of the Valais dairy sector at both regional and national levels. This considerable challenge also involves the task of bringing the milk producers' interests in line with modern marketing processes.

The Sierre-based management of the FLV guarantees the representation of its members before the political instances of both the Confederation and the Canton. The cooperative is managed by a team of 15 staff.
